Small phase 2 trial: PSMA PET-guided salvage therapy without ADT feasible in oligorecurrence
Phase 1-2 · JU Open Plus · 2026-10-01. Number 4 in the UrologyWatch Top 5 for October 1, 2026.
In 20 men with PET-defined oligorecurrent prostate cancer after prostatectomy, metastasis-directed therapy without androgen deprivation produced a 50% PSA decline in 40% at 6 months, with 12-month ADT-free survival around 71%.
Why it matters: Suggests a subset of oligorecurrent patients may be able to defer ADT using MDT alone, though pathology at salvage lymph node dissection often showed more extensive disease than PET predicted.
