How items are ranked

Evidence level: regulatory action and guidelines, then phase 3 RCT, meta-analysis, prospective, retrospective, commentary.
Source tier: peer-reviewed journal and regulator first, then society and trade press. Journal articles gain weight by the journal's latest Impact Factor (Clarivate Journal Citation Reports), so studies in the highest-impact journals rise toward the top.
Practice impact: whether it changes what a provider can offer this month.

Ranking is rule-based. No sponsor or author pays for placement.

Editorial policy

UrologyWatch is a neutral aggregator. Summaries are original and link to the primary source; we do not reproduce abstracts or figures. Items are selected and summarized with AI tools under rules the editors set, checked automatically against their sources and corrected when errors are found; they are not individually reviewed by a physician before publishing. How it works. A new edition is published every morning at about 5 AM ET.
