Single-port robotic nephroureterectomy via lower anterior access feasible in multicenter series

Retrospective · Eur Urol · 2026-11-07. Number 4 in the UrologyWatch Top 5 for November 7, 2026.

In 47 patients across five centers, single-port retroperitoneal nephroureterectomy with bladder cuff excision via a single extraperitoneal incision achieved 76.7% pentafecta at 12 months, with 6% grade 3+ complications and 15% recurrence at median 12.3-month follow-up.

Why it matters: Describes an emerging single-port surgical technique for UTUC; comparative data against standard approaches are still needed.

Limitation: Retrospective multicenter series from experienced referral centers with short follow-up and no comparator arm.
