T2-MRI radiomics model predicts apical positive margins before prostatectomy

In 235 men with MRI-visible apical prostate tumors, a radiomics model built from T2-weighted MRI predicted apical positive surgical margins with AUC 0.874 in a held-out test set.
Why it matters: Raises the question of whether radiomics could help with preoperative apical margin risk counseling, but needs prospective validation.
Limitation: Single-institution retrospective design with modest sample size and no external validation cohort.
