Aquablation shows similar safety and efficacy as salvage therapy after prior BPH surgery
Retrospective · BJU Int · 2026-10-08. Number 2 in the UrologyWatch Top 5 for October 8, 2026.
In a multicenter registry of 1887 men undergoing Aquablation, the 5.8% who had prior BPH intervention had similar complication rates, retreatment, sexual function, and symptom score improvements as treatment-naive patients.
Why it matters: Suggests Aquablation can be considered after failed prior BPH surgery without excess risk, though retrospective design limits causal conclusions.
