Meta-analysis: peritoneal flap reconstruction cuts symptomatic lymphocele after prostatectomy

Meta-analysis · World J Urol · 2026-10-06. Number 3 in the UrologyWatch Top 5 for October 6, 2026.

A systematic review and meta-analysis of 31 studies found peritoneal flap-based reconstruction significantly reduced symptomatic lymphocele after radical prostatectomy with pelvic lymph node dissection (pooled RCT data RR 0.57), with a larger effect in a sensitivity analysis of comparative studies.

Why it matters: Supports a simple, low-cost intraoperative technique to reduce a common post-prostatectomy complication.
