Global Burden of Disease 2023: urologic cancer incidence rising, death rates falling

Analysis of GBD 2023 data shows prostate, bladder, kidney and testicular cancers caused 2.47 million incident cases and 0.88 million deaths in 2023, with rising incidence for testicular and kidney cancer but declining death rates across all four cancers since 1990.

Why it matters: Provides a global epidemiologic benchmark showing population growth and aging, not rising risk, drive most of the increase in case counts.
