Prospective · JAMA Netw Open · 2026-09-30. Number 4 in the UrologyWatch Top 5 for September 30, 2026.
A multicenter prospective study of a urine-based AL021918.2/vimentin methylation assay in over 2,300 patients found sensitivities around 91% and specificities around 90% for urothelial carcinoma detection and surveillance.
Why it matters: Could offer a noninvasive alternative or adjunct to cystoscopy and cytology for bladder cancer detection and surveillance.
