The Interview Playbook
For medical students entering urology
Run your residency interview like a surgical case: careful pre-op, a calm day in the OR, and a clean post-op. Fourteen steps, each one tap to open.

You earned the interview. Now the goal is simple: let them meet the person your application describes. Programs choose their own format, so set the toggle to in person or virtual and the advice adjusts.
Know the rules
SAU guidelines, in brief
- Programs choose in person or virtual interviews and tell you the format when they invite you. You should not be judged differently either way.
- Second looks are not required or offered, and you may not request one.
- Thank-you notes are optional. Programs are asked not to respond to them.
- After the interview, only you can start contact, and only in writing.
- You never have to reveal where else you are interviewing or how you will rank, and no one may ask for a commitment outside the Match.

Prepare like it's a big case, operate like a calm surgeon, and close like you'll see the patient again. Programs remember people, not answers.
